Images convey not only information, but also emotion or attitude. Within a matter of seconds powerful images are understood, or at times, misunderstood. This short course explored a strategy for examining images and offered a resource for accessing authentic images representing everyday life around the world using images to portray global themes and stories.
Using a technique called Photo-Detectives, developed by photographer J. Sara Klatchko, as well as the online resources The Everyday Projects, and The Pulitzer Center, educators learnt visual literacy strategies to use with their students.
