Spelling Bee Contest for High School Students
In the USA, spelling contests date back to the early 1800s. Since 1925, the National Spelling Bee is held annually and stands for a huge part of American culture and language.
Each year, America House organizes a Spelling Bee Contest for high school students. By preparing for this competition and taking part in it, participants learn and practice the American standardized spelling, develop self-confidence, communication and public speaking skills, and the ability to thrive under pressure.
TED English
TED English is a series of discussion sessions where participants talk about ideas worth spreading and practice English. We organize the sessions once a month and we choose different TED Talk topics by various American experts.
If you want to practice English, learn new useful vocabulary, and discover interesting ideas, we are inviting you to join these sessions.
International Education Week
International Education Week (IEW) which we mark every year is a great opportunity for everyone to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of the efforts to promote programs that prepare students for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences.
Professional Development Programs
Once in two months, you can have the opportunity to join a professional development program on different subjects that not only will help you learn something new but also practice and gain new skills. The programs are moderated by experts trained in different fields. So far we have covered topics such as Public Speaking, Entrepreneurship, and Media Literacy.
