March, also known as Women’s History Month, is an occasion to celebrate women’s achievements and promote women’s equality. From Abigail Adams to Susan B. Anthony, Sojourner Truth to Rosa Parks, the timeline of women’s history milestones stretches back to the founding of the United States.
From March 7 to 25, America House Chisinau encouraged school students aged 14 – 18 to research and create a photographic essay about American and/or Moldovan remarkable women who made strides in fields like science, technology, politics, education, medicine, entertainment, or sport.
A photographic essay or photo-essay is a form of visual storytelling, a way to present a narrative through a series of images. A photo essay delivers a story using a series of photographs and brings the viewer along a narrative journey.
