Corruption is the major cause of poverty around the world. It occurs at all levels of society and affects all the nations, though all elements of society are affected in some way as corruption undermines political development, democracy, economic development, the environment, people’s health and other major domains of life.
From August 17th through 21st, America House Chisinau organized the non-formal training program “Prevention of corruption and strengthening integrity” with Virginia Moraru, master in economic law at the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Stephen the Great.
The program included the issue of anti-corruption, theoretically and practically, using interactive methods. The agenda included topics such as: the corruption source, the consequences of corruption, anti-corruption and its methods, national and international practices in preventing corruption, integrity and ways to strengthen it, the role of public authorities, civil society and every citizen in preventing corruption.
During the program the moderator used a diversity of presentations and interactive activities like: role-playing games, work in groups, case studies, discussion club to develop teamwork and individual skills, critical thinking and creativity, to strengthen the active spirit and intolerance towards the phenomenon of corruption.
