Retired NASA astronaut Anna Fisher, who was the first mother ever to travel in space, came on June 6-7 to America House to talk about being one of the United States’ first female astronauts. Dr Fisher was one of the first female astronauts selected by NASA. She shared her experience of flying to space and described how complex and important the work in the space industry is.
Anna Fisher is also a chemist, and a doctor specializing in emergency medicine. Fisher flew on the Space Shuttle in 1984 and also worked on the programs for the International Space Station and the Orion capsule being developed for NASA’s future Space Launch System.
