A letter to my future self
by Vlada O.
Dear me from the future,
Hi. How are you doing? Does the future look nice? I really hope so! I also hope you’re well or at least better than now… You’ve been through rough times but I really hope it’s finally over now. I wonder which profession will I finally choose. Will I like it? I sure hope so. What happened to all the creative writing workshops? Am I still writing? Have I accomplished that funny goal of writing a book? If yes then I’m sure I enjoyed it, right? This feels like the only interest I haven’t given up on. Maybe it’s because of some people that made me feel special and somehow talented. Life is all about discovering your inner talents and bringing them to light. I hope you stopped writing sad stories and went just for the happy ones. It
s alright if I haven’t. Sad stories can soften people too. I should say something positive but I’m not sure what can I say beside all those “I hope…”. It’s not too much, neither too little. I am sure it isn’t everything I want to say, yet I don’t want to spoil it for you, for me… But I’d love a longer conversation with you. You’re a good person and I hope you finally understood it. All you needed was time, I guess. It’s not like I don’t know it but you know, making mistakes constantly really doesn’t help me see what’s beyond the veil society quietly wraps around and prevents us to discover our qualities. But, let us try to talk about something else, less sad or melancholy. Let us attempt a different subject. Maybe I should write about the weather? Right now it’s actually just perfect, not too hot nor too cold. I wish it to remain this way, weather, please leave us here, somewhere in the middle, at the right Celsius or Fahrenheit. Just there, where I am not able to figure out what to do with myself. ??At the state of lost perfection. Mid way finding and mid way losing? Anyway, keep up the good work and be true to yourself. Please be true to yourself, no matter what.
Love you! Take care!
P.S.: Don’t do dumb short haircuts anymore! Let’s not embarrass ourselves, our future selves! ♥
